If you are in need of clothing after termination of your job, changing mindset around clothing and fashion could be the most beneficial option. Of course there could be a need for professional clothes once everything returns back to normal. We’ll discuss both mindset and where to find good bargains below…
What is Necessary?
Most of us could probably survive well on a third of the clothes in our closet. We see geniuses narrow their wardrobe to one uniform. Examples of “uniform” wearers are Steve Jobs, Wayne Dryer, Mark Zuckerburg and many others. Their philosophy is to eliminate some of the decisions of fashion so they can spend their time on the more important decisions of their day.
Fast Fashion
Fashion moves so fast it’s hard to always have what is trending, not to mention it is extremely expensive to constantly change your wardrobe to keep up and horrible for the environment as we have created a need for more clothing floating around in our world which eventually ends up in our landfills.
Suits for Interviews
Suits and professional clothes can be the most expensive item in your closet. If you are strapped for cash some programs offer free clothes for interviews. It may take a google search for programs in your area. One program we found was “Career Gear” in NY. Another option would be any consignment or thrift store that would offer clothing at a fraction of the retail cost.
Thrifting
Not only good for your wallet, but also for the earth because you are recycling clothes, thrifting is a great option. But what about other people’s clothes during coronavirus? Bustle wrote, “Currently, there’s conflicting information about whether the coronavirus can be killed at a certain temperature or if it can survive through a laundry wash. To be on the safe side, wash items in hot water when possible. You should also consider wiping down your washer and dryer with a disinfectant.
“People can practice infection control through basic hygiene,” Mark says. “Wash surfaces with alcohol-based products — at least 60% — and clothing in detergent in hot water.””
