The $2 Trillion Stimulus Relief package is on its way for most Americans. The qualifier is your 2019 income on your tax returns. If you filed your 2018 and 2019 tax returns or currently receive social security, there is nothing more for you to do, a check will show up. Direct deposits will happen if the IRS already has your information. If you haven’t filed those tax returns the IRS urges you to do so quickly.
What you can expect if you qualify for this one-time payment:
- Individual taxpayers will get $1,200
- Married couples filing jointly will get $2400
- In addition, they will receive $500 for their children under the age of 17.
According to Forbes, “Upper income folks aren’t eligible for the checks; the payments start to phase out for single filers with adjusted gross income above $75,000; married couples filing jointly with AGI above $150,000; and heads of household (that’s a single person with dependents), with AGI above $112,500. Stimulus amounts will be paid out based on 2019 income (or 2018, if an individual hasn’t yet filed their 2019 tax return).”
Some can expect to start seeing payouts in May.
